Help support our Regatta

To most people, the Abersoch Village Regatta is all about the fun events that happen during Regatta week. The other side to the Regatta is helping out local organisations through donations made by yourselves. Over the past few years we have made donations to many local organisations including schools, pre-schools, Abersoch Harbour Committee, Bangor Hospital, Air Ambulance, RNLI, Ganolfan Llanengan, Dwyfor Ocean Youth, support for a local aspiring golf pro, funding of 2 Defibrilators – one for the beach, and one for the village, …. and more.

Fundraising

The monies raised throughout the week from fundraising events and activities goes back into our community, supporting many local worthy causes and organisations.

Volunteer

The Committee is responsible for planning and organising the Regatta each year and we rely on volunteers during regatta week to help us to run the events we put on for you.

History

The very first Regatta took place on Saturday 23rd July 1881 and as the North Wales Chronicle reported: "Thousands had arrived and the place was in great glee. The weather was tolerably fine and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves thoroughly."
